The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) is pleased to present an exciting training opportunity for providers.  Building on introductory LARC didactic and hands-on insertion skills, this program will focus on advanced LARC topics for providers.  This includes discussion of best practices for difficult and postpartum IUD insertions, IUD placement techniques for women with stenotic os, pain management techniques including utilization of paracervical block, and comprehensive LARC counseling strategies.

Learning Objectives (Part 1 & 2)

  1. Review LARC methods
  2. Describe comprehensive counseling strategies
  3. Discuss best practice and techniques for complex and postpartum IUD insertions
  4. Apply counseling strategies for pain management during IUD insertion
  5. Perform steps in complex and postpartum IUD insertion techniques
  6. Determine strategies for individualized patient follow-up

Time: Total training time 6 hours.  1 hour lunch break can be arranged.  ARHP will provide food and refreshments.
CME/CE: 3.0 credit hours

  • Will include Insertion, removal and reinsertion training
  • Participants must provide NPI numbers.  It is Merck’s policy to verify all clinicians’ practice, license, and eligibility information in advance of the training.  Attendees are expected to attend the entire NEXPLANON® training which is approximately 3 hours in duration.
