Goals/Objectives:

  1. To review the current available formulations for provision of enteral and parenteral lipids and fatty acids in the NICU.
  1. To understand the physiology placing the preterm infant at risk for polyunsaturated fatty acid deficiency.
  1. To review the literature regarding supplementation of polyunsaturated fatty acids in preterm infants, and potential effects on morbidities in preterm neonates.
