New MOC Component – “Stop, Look and Listen”

An Innovative E-learning Tool on Child Abuse funded by a grant from the NICHD.

Stop Look Listen:  Separating Fact from Fiction in Cases of Child Abuse follows six children with injuries that are suspicious for abuse through a series of clinical encounters and the concomitant investigative processes.  Each scenario is based on a real-life case and is designed to illuminate specific areas within the general topic of physical child abuse, such as interaction with the legal system, bruise patterns characteristic of abuse, and children witnessing episodes of intimate partner violence.   The virtual cases feature interactions with patients, parents and other family members, peers, consultants, child protection service workers and legal professionals.   As each scenario unfolds, learners have the opportunity to explore multiple pathways with decision points along the way.   Developed by Dr. Danielle Laraque and a group of leading child abuse experts including Drs. Emalee Flaherty, Bob Sege, Dianna Abney  and Lori Legano, Stop Look Listen is approved for 8 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and 10.00 points of MOC Part 2 credit by the American Board of Pediatrics through the AAP MOC Portfolio Program.   To register for both CME and the MOC Self-Assessment component please visit:
