This free educational dinner program, “Diagnosis & Management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease in Pediatric Patients,” will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 6:00-8:30pm at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island, 101 Mineola Blvd., Research and Academic Center, Mineola, NY 11501.

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the presentation, the learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss and identify the physiology and natural history related to GERD in pediatric patients and which patients are at increased risk for GERD.
  2. Discuss and describe the signs and symptoms related to GERD in pediatric patients.
  3. Describe the variety of diagnostic approaches to GERD in children and what diagnostic test is/are optimal.
  4. Explain the various treatments approaches, including medical and surgical, related to pediatric patients with GERD.
  5. Characterize the possible relationships between GERD and various extraesophageal diseases including the etiology, diagnosis and management aspects.
